Wykeland Group, Hull – Transforming Grimsby’s Former Ramsdens Superstore
In June 2018, we partnered with Wykeland Group to undertake a major demolition project on Cleethorpes Road, Grimsby. The site, once home to the former Ramsdens Superstore, presented a substantial challenge—a 2-storey superstore structure built with structural steel and in-situ concrete floors, alongside additional sheds and buildings, all set on a large car park.
Our first step was the safe and compliant removal of asbestos, ensuring a hazard-free environment before beginning the main demolition. With our team of highly trained professionals, we deployed our specialised demolition fleet to carry out a meticulous mechanical demolition of the superstore and surrounding structures. Throughout the 17-week programme, we excavated the car park and processed all debris, crushing it to 6F5 grading for environmentally responsible reuse.
This project, showcases our expertise in handling large-scale demolition and our commitment to sustainable practices. LHL Group, Project Manager can attest to the quality and precision of our work on behalf of Wykeland Group.

Transforming Beverley Longcroft Lower School Site
In November 2020, we embarked on an extensive project to clear the former Beverley Longcroft Lower School for Hobson & Porter Ltd and East Riding of Yorkshire Council. This site, once filled with the echoes of school life, was carefully deconstructed over a 23-week programme to prepare it for new beginnings.
Our work began with the safe removal of asbestos from the buildings, adhering to the strictest safety standards. With the hazardous materials out of the way, our skilled team moved to the mechanical demolition phase, taking down all remaining school structures with precision and efficiency, down to the solid foundations.
Every piece of waste and debris was transported off-site, leaving the area fully cleared and ready for the next phase of development. This project underscored our commitment to thorough, safe, and environmentally responsible demolition practices, ensuring that every detail met our high standards.

Restoring Safety to Belmont Road, Scarborough
In November 2023, we undertook a critical project to demolish a fire-damaged former hotel on Belmont Road, Scarborough, for RH Fullwood & Sons Ltd and North Yorkshire Council. The site, situated within a densely populated area, posed unique challenges that demanded precision, safety, and careful planning.
Our team first addressed the asbestos hazards within the building, ensuring safe removal in accordance with strict regulations to protect both workers and the surrounding community. With the site cleared of hazardous materials, we moved forward with the mechanical demolition of the fire-damaged structure, carefully dismantling it to minimise disruption to the local area.
Completed in just eight weeks, this project highlighted our expertise in handling complex demolitions in urban settings, restoring safety and preparing the site for future redevelopment. We take pride in delivering secure, efficient solutions tailored to the needs of the communities we serve.
